Apprentice of the Year Adam, winner of the $1,000 incentive prize for apprentices

AE Smith have developed a "National Training Achievement Award" to recognise and reward the efforts of the company's apprentices.
Apprentices from around the country are encouraged to enter, with assessment focused on their academic performance over the past 12 months and potential for professional development within AE Smith.
Five state finalists were evaluated for this year's award, with the Victorian Finalist Adam named the national apprentice of the year and awarded a cash bonus of $1,000 plus a perpetual trophy.
"Apprentices are our future and it's important we reward them" comments David Seedsman, Regional General Manager - Construction South for AE Smith.
"Our winner has displayed a fantastic attitude and aptitude for his work and we're looking forward to developing Adam within the company, either in construction or management", he adds.
Twenty eight year old Adam has worked with AE Smith for just under four years, and spent the past nine months working on site at the Royal Women's Hospital on a major installation project. His outstanding performance has also been recognised by the wider industry, being named one of three finalists in Victoria's Air-conditioning & Mechanical Contractors Association's (AMCA) Training Achievement Awards.

"It's a great honour to have my work recognised and the encouragement you receive from these awards and incentive programs makes AE Smith a great company to work for", comments winner, Adam.
The national training incentive award has become a key ingredient in attracting and retaining apprentices to AE Smith, but is also matched by additional training and career support extended by the company.
"While the incentive award is a great bonus for our apprentices, at AE Smith we feel strongly about providing a safe work environment and plenty of opportunities for career progression whether that's on site or in the office", adds Mr Seedsman.
