Sometimes it feels like it's almost impossible to make a difference, especially when it comes to climate change.

It's estimated that 30-40% of the world's primary energy is used in buildings! Don't take our word for it - check it out in the United Nations 2007 Report called "Buildings and Climate Change".
| In Australia alone, the HVAC industry is responsible for:
| - Consuming 9% of electricity produced in Australia
- Producing more than 21 million tonnes of CO2 per annum (that's 3.6% of all Australian greenhouse gas emissions or equivalent to planting 82 million trees!)
- Using between 40-60% of all the energy required in non residential buildings
- Consuming billions of litres of water thanks to large cooling towers

So with these damning statistics, working in the HVAC industry presents a real opportunity to create change. At AE Smith, we're looking for real ways to make a difference and do our bit for the environment.
It makes sense to choose a career with a major player in the Australian air conditioning industry that understands the powerful role - both positive and negative - air conditioning plays in climate change.
You'll have the very real opportunity to make a difference when it comes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and stopping climate change by helping our customers engineer, construct and service even more energy efficient air conditioning and mechanical services.
