| AE Smith’s Engineering Manager, PETER KINSELLA has been appointed as the Australia & New Zealand Regional Chairman of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE). As the international professional body for the building services profession, CIBSE has a membership of over 17 000 in 80 countries. Mr Kinsella’s appointment as this region’s new Chairman comes at a time when an environmental spotlight on the built environment is firmly on the national agenda. “The building services industry is facing a major change of focus from lowest price tendered work to projects that place building efficiency and sustainability front and centre – it’s an exciting time to be at the coalface,” comments Peter Kinsella. Kinsella’s vision for CIBSE in Australia and New Zealand is to help provide information and education for members that’s relevant, available and affordable. “As part of CIBSE’s charter to contribute to the evolution of building design, construction and maintenance it’s important we ensure costs are not a barrier to stimulating thought and imagination through education,” adds Kinsella. With over 10 years at AE Smith leading the Melbourne based Engineering team, Mr Kinsella is also a Green Star Accredited Professional, a director of ARBS as well as holding an Honours Degree in Building Services Engineering from London South Bank University, UK.
