| AE Smith in Perth is making a splash around the city with their colourful service trucks that leave no question about the charity they support. As long time pro bono sponsors of Ronald McDonald House near Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, AE Smith Perth have recently created a Happy Truck to herald their commitment. “Our bright service truck has certainly captured the attention and imagination of our customers,” comments AE Smith Perth General Manager, Graeme Stewart. “We have grown to have such a fantastic appreciation for the services of Ronald McDonald House and thought this was a creative way to help spread the word of their good work,” adds Graeme. AE Smith is amongst many corporate supporters of the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) in Subiaco, providing free air conditioning service and maintenance for the past three years. The special relationship means the House no longer receives bills for air conditioning service and maintenance, saving up to $10,000 every year. The Perth office also supports the RMH annual Charity Ball, helping the event become one of the country’s most successful fundraising events. Perth’s Ronald McDonald House provides respite care for families with seriously ill children – assisting hundreds of families whose children are receiving life saving treatment at nearby Princess Margaret Hospital. Graeme believes the free services offered to Ronald McDonald House is a way of fostering the organisations strong family values. “We hope in some small way our support increases their capacity to care for sick kids and their families and makes their stay a little more comfortable,” adds Graeme. “We pride ourselves on providing a home-away-from-home for families who are facing what is often the greatest challenge of their lives,” says Alison Salmond, RMH Perth Executive Officer. “Making the House as comfortable as possible with the help of supporters like AE Smith is a very big part of this goal,” she adds. AE Smith Perth joins their Melbourne and Townsville colleagues who also provide free air conditioning service and maintenance support to RMH Monash and RMH Townsville. |
