Race Rules & Conditions of Entry

Race Rules & Conditions of Entry

Conditions of Entry:
1. Participation in the AE Smith Pedal Power Generator Race (the "Race") at Green Cities 2010 (GC10) is by invitation only. This invitation is made courtesy of AE Smith on behalf of the Green Building Council of Australia and the Property Council of Australia. The Race will be staged inside the exhibition area of GC10 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) on the 22nd and 23rd February.
2. The bearer of this Entry Ticket and Race ID is entitled to free entry to the exhibition area only of GC10 on the day of their race. AE Smith reserves the right to refuse entry. To gain entry, simply show your Entry Ticket and Race ID to the security guard at the exhibition entrance. You do not have to formally register at the GC10 Registration Desk if you are only participating in the Race. Entry to the GC10 Exhibition does not include entry to any GC10 conference session or related social events, unless of course if you are also a paying GC10 conference delegate. The Entry Ticket and Race ID must be worn and on display at all times while inside the GC10 exhibition area.
3. As a Race participant and invited guest we ask that you enjoy the hospitality kindly provided by the GC10 event organisers while keeping in mind the refreshment needs of other paying conference delegates. We also ask that you arrive and leave the GC10 exhibition area in a reasonable timeframe shortly before and after your scheduled Race.

Race Rules:
4. The Race Form Guide (subject to change without notice) tables the scheduled Start and Finish time of each Pedal Power Generator Race. There are 14 races in total over two days. The duration of every Race is 10 minutes in length (with the exception of the School Race that totals 255 minutes over two days). It is your responsibility and that of your team to be at the AE Smith Pedal Power Generator at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your Race, dressed appropriately and ready to adjust the height of your bicycle seat during the changeover time between the end of one Race and the start of the next.
5. A Race is won by the Team which generates the most Power in 10 minutes during each Race. The Team that generates the single largest amount of power in 10 minutes will be the Overall Winning Team. The winning School Team is the one that generates the largest cumulative total of power over two days. Race results will be available progressively throughout the day during the Race on www.aesmith.com.au and www.aesmith.mobi.
6. AE Smith's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. There are no public shower or change facilities available other than public toilets at the venue. We suggest you wear appropriate cycling attire including team jersey, padded shorts, gloves and runners to the Race. Bring a small towel, your own water/energy drinks and special food/energy bars as required. A Bicycle helmet is not required. Bicycle pedals that accommodate clip in shoes and/or toe clips are not permitted during the Race.
