AE Smith keeping cool and creating warmth at Ronald McDonald House

AE Smith in Perth is helping create a welcome respite for families at Ronald McDonald House near Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. Joining other corporate supporters of the House, AE Smith has agreed to provide free air conditioning service and maintenance - ensuring the House is kept cool in hot Perth summers and warm and cosy in Winter. "We pride ourselves on providing a home away from home for families who are facing what is often the greatest challenge of their lives", says Alison Salmond, House Executive Officer. "Making the House as comfortable as possible with the help of supporters like AE Smith is a very big part of this goal", she adds.

General Manager of AE Smith in Perth, Graeme Stewart was delighted to provide free services to Ronald McDonald House as a way of fostering the organisations strong family values. The special relationship means the House will no longer receive bills for air conditioning service and maintenance, saving up to $10,000 every year. "We hope in some small way our support increases their capacity to care for sick kids and their families and makes their stay a little more comfortable", comments Graeme. "This is the very first time we've supported an organisation on a pro bono basis because we have tremendous admiration for the fantastic work of Ronald McDonald House", he adds. AE Smith Perth joins their Melbourne, Townsville and Auckland colleagues who have also recently engaged in providing free air conditioning service and maintenance support to Ronald McDonald House in Monash, Townsville and Auckland. "We're proud to say AE Smith has created a special relationship with Ronald McDonald House in four locations - and we're hoping to roll this out as a national initiative in the coming year", add Graeme.
